Since April 6, 2019, Carlo's mortal remains have rested at the Sanctuary of the Spogliazione in Assisi.

Carlo's body was laid to rest in the sepulchral monument, the work of artist Eraldo Marini, located in the right aisle of the Sanctuary of the Spogliazione. The drawings in the panels illustrating Carlo's life are by illustrator Mario Cossu.
